Adult Family Relationships

A necessary and commonly difficult task of adulthood is reflecting on childhood experiences and family relationships. Life transitions often bring these relationships to the forefront when the roles that once served you in the context of your family no longer fit with the life you want to live now. Maybe you began to see this difference when beginning or ending college, getting married, or becoming a parent yourself.

Many of my clients knew that they did not have the relationships they wanted with their parents or siblings, but were unsure of what to change and what a healthier relationship could look like. Together, we will work to identify the values that are most important to you, explore how patterns in your relationships align with those values, and take steps to create healthier dynamics between you and your loved ones.
